A week ago Apple launched iPad 2 and stores no longer have stock. One year after the first iPad, we already have the second generation. This second version is 9 times faster than the first one and almost half Slim

In 2010 when Apple launched the iPad, they sold 300,000 units in the first 24 hours, including weeks of online pre-orders. During the first month the company sold 1m and nearly 15m in the first three quarters.

To trying to improve sales, Apple has been helped by much wider distribution channels such as Wal-Mart, and both of the biggest US telecoms companies, AT&T and Verizon. With this new distribution cannel Apple estimates to sell between 500-1m the first week and 5.5m this month. With prices starting at $499 imagine the total amount.

The successful by Apple is due to they be able to offer a product with the same or better characteristics than his competitors but a lower price. In the next image we can see the prices of the currently tablets.

We can see how with the same or better characteristics the Ipad price is lower.

Now, I am going to show how the Apple stock rate is influenced by the sales of the iPads or by the Steve Jobs health.

In the chart we can see different annotations that explain the picks and drops. For example, the annotation with the letter “F” explains the drop suffered due to Steve Jobs had to leave Apple for medical reason. If you make click in the annotations you will see the different explanations about the picks and drops.

In conclusion we have seen how through the Apple strategies, the company have been able to launch a competitive product which has had a low price and a good answer to shareholders.
